intimidation, terror, and coercion are words that describe the presidential elections held recently in zimbabwe...the deliberate strategy by the zimbabwean government to ensure that robert mugabe wins the election is deeply disturbing... since the general elections on march 29, at least 85 people have reportedly been killed...over 3,000 people have been treated for injuries from beatings with sticks and iron bars...the movement for democratic change opposition party claims that 2,000 of its supporters have been jailed...
the time has come to end this blatant assault on human rights...the people of zimbabwe must not be left alone to suffer this ongoing violence...
