in reflecting back on 2006 i'd have to say that it was a year marked by many key successes both here in the united states and abroad...and as an active volunteer activist with amnesty international you helped make it all possible by becoming members, writing letters, doing public education by hosting movie screenings and dvd viewings, marching to stop violence against women, lobbying c0ngresspersons and senators, attending trainings, and organizing meetings...these are just a few of the things you helped accomplish last year:

- Helen Berhane, a well-known Christian evangelical singer, was released from captivity in Eritrea...
- On September 1, U.S. District Judge Raner Collins dismissed the case against humanitarian aid workers Shanti Sellz and Daniel Strauss. Sellz and Strauss had been charged with transporting undocumented migrants after providing assistance to three men found in apparently life-threatening condition in the Arizona desert last July...
