conscientious objector or not???

a most interesting individual lurks about as the u.s. senate prepares to debate competing non-binding resolutions regarding the funding for the war in iraq...

based on his belief that the war in Iraq is illegal and immoral, lt. ehren watada is refusing to deploy to iraq...he is being court-martialed by the u.s. military and faces up to 4 years in prison...we in amnesty international believe that a guilty verdict would be a violation of internationally recognized rights to freedom of conscience...

amnesty international's press release on lt. watada's situation can be read here...

the transcript of an interview with ehren can be found here on kevin site's in the zone blogsite...

what do you think about lt. watada's decision???

peace out <3
