rather than spend a lot of $$$ on a diamond that may have helped african children in conflict zones to be abducted and forced into being soldiers stylishly sporting a used ak-47 give (and receive) a clean diamond bracelet ...and tell their story for them since they can't do it for themselves...

WOW! That couldn't have been said in a more straight-forward way. And you are right, that is EXACTLY what is happening right now, even as I type this, but, atleast I don't have a bloody diamond tennis bracelet dangling.
